The Role
We are seeking an entry level Junior Backend Engineer to join our dynamic and skilled remote-first team. You’ll play a key role in developing our backend systems, ensuring they are robust, efficient, and scalable.

What you’ll do:
You’ll contribute to the server-side of our app, which features a serverless architecture using Node.js and running on Google Cloud Platform.
Integrate energy devices via their cloud APIs into our platform (Electric Vehicles, chargers, solar inverters, home batteries, appliances and more)
Write serverless code (i.e. Google Cloud Functions) using Node.js & JavaScript
Participate in code reviews to improve the quality of our code
Work with our mobile engineers and data scientists to implement new features
Job requirements
What we’re looking for:
We’re looking for an entry-level engineer, who has experience in the following areas:
1+ years of experience as a backend or full-stack engineer with Node.js experience
Good coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript
Good understanding of REST APIs
Able to collaborate well with others and can communicate effectively while working remotely
Interest in energy devices and smart home APIs
Proactive “can-do” attitude and a desire to ship new features quickly
Self-reliant
Diligence and craftsmanship
Analytical and data-driven mindset
Prior experience with serverless concepts is a plus (but not mandatory)
Prior experience with IOT APIs is a plus (but not mandatory)
Prior experience with basic machine learning is a plus (but not mandatory)
